Colleen,
One of the greatest perks of being a member of Sigma Alpha Iota is the sincere and abiding friendships we make with our sisters through the years. My friendship with you is no exception. :-) I feels so fortunate that you have joined my circle of friends.
It won't be long now and your precious baby girl will make her appearance and your life will be forever changed. How exciting...you will be a family! :-) I know your road over the last several years has not been easy. I greatly empathize with the struggle to add a precious child to your loving home. Add that to the loss of both your Mother and Father and it takes a strong woman to persevere. Your parents may not get to hold your baby girl on Earth, but they will get to love on her someday for all eternity.
There are no perfect mothers in the world. You will know your child better than anyone else. Follow your heart and you will be fine. There is more than one right way to parent, so don't let someone else tell you that you are doing it wrong. Don't be afraid to tell your children "No". They rely on you to set healthy boundaries for them. Keeping a consistent routine each day helps them to feel safe because they learn to know what is coming next. On the days where you need divine intervention, ask God for wisdom. Pray for your daughter often. Love on her everyday! <3
I am so happy for Scott and you. I am greatly looking forward to your daughter's pictures after she is born and as she grows into a beautiful young lady. I will be praying for an easy delivery and smooth recovery. :-)
God bless you on your new adventure, my friend!
-Jennifer Cady
