Col,
I can't believe that we've been friends since 4th grade @ Stratfield School here in Fairfield, CT...I am so proud to call you my friend, and though we are miles apart, we "continue" the conversation (whether online or phone) where we left off.
There's too many memories and moments that we've shared; you were at Bat Mitzvah WAY back in '87...I was at your wedding back in October 2003...we've been there for each other at important times in our lives, and I wish I could be there at your shower, as this is a huge milestone on the path that is your life.
Having a baby...a baby GIRL....is so awesome! Perhaps you'll teach her how to use colored chalk on the sidewalk to make a hopscotch, or how to make a drink w/ lemonade and oj, or how to jump rope (or Double Dutch!). Maybe even juggle 2 or 3 tennis balls like we did at Stratfield. Perhaps she'll pick up on your love of history, especially American History....or photography so she can take amazing pictures! Perhaps she'll take up a musical instrument of her choice. Of course, perhaps she'll be a fan of "Yankeeball"! Maybe even she'll get to attend a few concerts, maybe even a "Lilith Fair" if there is ever one in the future :)
There will be no doubt in my mind that she'll be strong, confident, and dosed with a fun sense of humor & silliness....you'll introduce her to Tiny Toons and Disney classics, and perhaps tell her about "Bogey" and "Bumby".
I can't wait to meet her, whenever that will be. Congratulations and best wishes to both you and Scott on your baby-to-be!
All the best & lots of love n' hugs,
Jen :)
